Maynard's Signature Series First Avenue and 7th Street 500-Piece Puzzle - Something's Amiss  Series

First Avenue and 7th Street in Minneapolis started out as a transportation hub in 1937 when a Greyhound Bus Depot was built on the corner.  Greyhound relocated in 1968 and the building was converted into a rock club called the Depot, then renamed Uncle Sam's during the 70's disco era and later just Sam's.  On New Years Eve of 1981 the club changed it's name to First Avenue.  The club has been the starting point for many Twin Cities bands – including Prince, The Replacements, Husker Du, Soul Asylum, Semisonic and The Jayhawks.

The artist, Michael Birawer, is a nationally-acclaimed artist from St. Paul, Minnesota, best known for his unique style of painting cityscapes and iconic neighborhood locations.  His signature twisted buildings seem to dance with each other and capture the spirit of the iconic First Avenue music club – a scene full of energy and local pride. Enjoy!
